As I work on my latest convergent media project, I continue to focus on surveillance, the act of recording or being recording. My hometown of Moore, Oklahoma was recently affected by multiple EF-5 Tornadoes (which is the most extreme and damaging tornado on the planet). I've found several sites which show footage caught by surveillance cameras as the tornado of May 20, 2013 ripped through Moore and other towns throughout Oklahoma.

I'm not sure of this school's location but I wanted to share this dramatic tornado footage from the school's surveillance cameras.

Exploded Camera Gear
Exploded Camera Gear
Do you want to see what a $12,000 lens looks like inside? If you can stomach it, check out these cameras and lens cut in half. I wanted to share this link of disassembled lens and cameras from this pretty cool exhibit at Photokina.

Photography Student Arrested for Photographing Outside
I found this interesting and disturbing video that an art student in the U.K. filmed as she was harassed, ticketed and arrested for filming and photographing outside of a building while on public property. No days in the U.K. and in the U.S., photographers should beware doing the things that he or she loves because a police officer / government official can consider it an act of Terror and have you thrown in jail. I understand that police need to be aware and on guard but when is enough, enough? I think the days of freedoms and innocence are gone. :0(

Guy Permanently Attaches Surveillance Camera To His Head

Wanted to share this interesting article about a guy who had a surveillance camera permanently attached to his head. Wow, I love to take photos but I can't image that I'd love to have a camera following me to the potty and all the business of the day. ha! Well I guess someone has to be the pioneer. Hopefully this won't become a standard.
