Things which make me SMILE..... Smiling Horses

Our family lived on a farm for a short time when I was growing up and we had four horses. I loved running out into the fields with them or just sitting in the grass and watching for hours. I loved these creatures and their beauty. I still love horses and hopefully, someday will have a small amount of land where I can again keep a horse. I do however, have an English Mastiff who is almost the size of a horse, but not quite. LOL

Recently, I was blessed to photograph a few horses on a ranch. This guy was great. He actually got out and played in a mud puddle while I was there. I don't know if he was showing off for me but while he was covered in mud, he sported the biggest smile, which I captured here. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I do. It serves as a memory to me that we are the keepers of God's creatures. He made them to keep us company here on Earth.

Before the tornadoes started to roll in on Monday evening, I was able to meet a wonderful mother and mother-to-be in Mustang, Oklahoma. Deidra is having her third and last child. She wanted some special shots with her husband and her belly to document this moment that will never come again. She chose Shelly Perkins Photography to create these special motherhood images just for her. I'm proud to help them record this special moment for their family.

Krissy & Steven were married in Oklahoma City. Krissy is a teacher and lives in North Carolina while Steven resides in Ohio. They chose to get married in Oklahoma where Krissy grew up and had a beautiful intimate ceremony. I was very blessed to be part of their special day.

I shoot a Very LIMITED number of weddings per year. For many years, I shot weddings every weekend and I no longer do that.

The weddings that I do shoot, I try to capture moments that will be special to the couple because these are their forever photography images which will be passed down for generations.

These photos are of Sara Phillips and Eric Butts. Most were taken at his grandparents house and stable house (which is so cool, by the way). I had so much fun making the photo with the bride chasing after the groom with a rolling pin. I'm glad that were game for my crazy idea. This is a fantastic couple whom I look forward to making many more portraits of as well as their own babies some day.

I LOVED taking Little Baby Jack Jack's first photos. He is so adorable and even gave me a few smiles. He's already an OSU Cowboy wearing his orange and of course he needed a cowboy hat. His whole little body fit inside the hat. He's so tiny, only five pounds. I loved being able to put him in the baseball glove. Whoops....little tinkle in the glove. Oh well, maybe it will help condition it. LOL

R&R in Hawaii !

Had a great time in Kaua'i! My husband and I were able to visit some beautiful places and enjoy some R&R. We were celebrating his final round of chemotheraphy. We had previously traveled to three of the Hawaiian islands, but never to Kauai. However this trip was different from our "Let's see how much stuff we can cram into our vacation!" trips of the past. There was no agenda allowed on this trip. We spent all of our time relaxing and celebrating life. God is good.

Art in Ardmore

I was able to make a stop in Ardmore and check out some of the local artists and photographers. I took a few photos and included the beautiful sky. Looks can be deceiving....it was soooo cold! That darn Oklahoma wind was sure blowing. Here's one of my favorite exhibits in front of the Goddard Center Art Studio located on First SW in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
