Liberty Belle B-17 Down ~ Lost a piece of American History Today

Being married to a pilot, especially one that loves old war planes, this is such a sad event. Today one of the few remaining B-17's in the world, Liberty Belle made an emergency landing and then was destroyed by a fire. The crew did a great job landing and thankfully made it back on the ground safely. However, America lost a little piece of history when the Liberty Belle went down.

Oklahoma Family Photos by Shelly Perkins Photography

I had the greatest time this weekend meeting the most adorable little family. These Texas natives are Okies for a short time so we had to have a red dirt photo session. I hope you enjoy a sneak peak of our session.

The Branson Sky by Oklahoma's Shelly Perkins Photography

Looking off near the Branson Landing, Branson Missouri

Recently I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Branson, Missouri. One of my daughter's was attending a dance convention while I ran around exploring Branson. Unfortunately most of the time it was raining, however once the sky opened up, it presented me a beautiful image I just couldn't resist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did photographing it.

Attending Professional Photographers Convention

I've had the greatest time attending the PPO Convention which is the Professional Photographers of Oklahoma Convention in Midwest City, Oklahoma. It is an annual event where all professional photographers from around the state get together to compete in a print competition, attend classes from world famous photographers, see the latest and greatest photography gadgets at the trade show and enjoy the company of other photographers from around the state. Scott, my husband, was able to attend the banquet with me. It was lots of fun and somewhat like the Academy Awards for the professionals competing. I purchased some amazing new photography products and software which I can offer to my customers and friends. I always try to stay on top of the latest and the greatest so I can offer the hottest trends. However, I will always be true to my style and will always offer traditional portraiture as well as some funky and fresh photography as well.
