Butterfly Baby by Newborn Baby Photographer of Oklahoma Shelly Perkins

Meet Butterfly Baby Gracie. Isn't she the most precious little newborn? We had so much fun making these images. She was so content and peaceful, just sleeping away, all snugly in her little nest. It was very, very warm outside that afternoon, perfect weather for little Miss Gracie. I love when parents let me go with an idea and run with it. When given the time and opportunity, many wonderful pieces of art work can be made.

Newborn photos are best when taken the first ten days of life. During this time infants are still accustomed to being inside the womb. They will move and bend just about any way you put them. Once their little arms and legs have experienced freedom and they realize they can stretch out, forget it. Nine months couped up is just about enough for them.

Little Miss Gracie is from Hennessey, Oklahoma and these photographs were made on a very hot afternoon in Enid, my hometown. Although I live in the Oklahoma City area, I travel all over the state and just about anywhere you have your mind on taking portraits. If you have an idea or a really cool location for baby photos or senior pictures, let me know. We'll make something which is unique to you. Just like newborn baby photos, high school seniors pics are another event you want to freeze in time with a professionally made portrait. No matter who you choose to photograph these most special times in you and your child's life, remember to choose a photographer with the experience and who belongs to the PPA, Professional Photographers of America. Don't just trust this moment to the new kid in town with an expensive camera. I hope you enjoyed the image of Butterfly Baby.
